The Poco M6 will have 5G connectivity, teaser confirms

The Poco M5 was a 4G-only phone in all of its incarnations, including the M5s. The upcoming Poco M6 will gain support for 5G – this is coming straight from Himanhsu Tandon, the Country Head of Poco and Xiaomi.

This won’t be the first 5G phones in the series. In fact, the M5 was something of an exception as both the M3 and M4 series had 5G models in their ranks. There’s no word on what chipset will bring the next-gen connectivity, however.

Details like that will be released closer to launch day. For now we can only note the dual camera setup on a flat camera island that is closer to the M4 than the M5 (which had a raised visor-style island).

The Poco M4 5G launched in India in early 2022 at ₹13,000 for a 4/64GB unit and was sold through Flipkart. The Poco M5 model was ₹12,500 for a 4/64GB unit and arrived in late 2022. We expect the upcoming Poco M6 to stay in the same price segment as the M-series is the affordable one (below the X mid-rangers and F flagships).

Since Poco F1, Poco F2 and maybe X3 all Pocophones were bad to be honest. Home the 6th series makes some difference.

If only Infinix allow custom roms to make up for the ONE update post launch reputation they had in my place. I'm willing to make them my secondary phone.
