The upcoming Galaxy Tab S8 trio will feature Snapdragon 898 chipsets (not Exynos 2200)

A couple of months ago there was a massive leak of Galaxy Tab S8 specs covering three models – vanilla, S8+ and S8 Ultra. The vanilla model will support 45W charging based on that leak. In fact, all three models will, says reliable tipster Ice Universe.

They will be able to handle 10V at 4.5A, which matches the Galaxy Tab S7 models. Despite having larger batteries than phones, fast charging at 40 or more Watts on tablets is quite rare. Speaking of, the Galaxy Tab S8+ is supposed to have a 10,090 mAh battery, the S8 Ultra an 11,500 mAh battery, the vanilla model will have the smallest battery at 8,000 mAh.

Anyway, The Cat adds that all three slates will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 898. Perhaps that’s the reason for the delayed launch – the first two Tab S7 models came out over a year ago. And the 898 is not expected until December/January.

Another thing to note is that the leakster specifically says that the tablets will not use Samsung’s own Exynos 2200. You know, the one with the AMD RDNA GPU that is supposed to be more powerful than the new Adreno. More graphics power would have been beneficial on the larger screen. Of course, the Exynos is not ready for launch either.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 generation is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S22 flagships. They will all run the new One UI 4.0 out of the box.
