TikTok videos are becoming longer
TikTok is currently the major social media platform for sharing short 60-second videos, but from the start of Q2 2021 creators will have even more time for their videos.
In an official message, Drew Kirchhoff, Product Manager at TikTok, has revealed the service will be rolling out the option to create longer videos of up to three minutes.
Creators have been talking to TikTok, revealing they need a bit more extra time to bring their content to life without splitting it into videos like “like and follow for part 2”. The feature has already been tested with some users, but it is now expected to roll out to everybody.
Introducing longer videos, instead of pushing creators to be invested in multiple series means the end-user will spend up to three times longer in the app, watching videos, which is the ultimate goal for TikTok - to keep the engagement to the maximum.
