Top 10 trending phones of week 32

Chip, 15 August 2022

With a bunch of high-profile announcements coming this week it's little wonder that our trending chart is greatly changed compared to week 31.

Samsung's new foldable flagship - the Galaxy Z Fold4 emerged on top when all the dust settled, followed by Xiaomi's Mix Fold2.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra handled all the turbulence surprisingly well to place third and even managed to edge the newly unveiled Galaxy Z Flip4, which settled for the fourth position.

The Redmi Note 11 is back down to fifth, while the Galaxy A53 and Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max retained their sixth and seventh respective positions.

That was enabled by the rapid fall in popularity of the Nothing Phone (1), which is now eight and the OnePlus 10T, which dropped out of the top 10 entirely.

In an unprecedented event the ninth position is taken by a device that isn't a phone. We've had the occasional tablet slide among the most popular devices in our database, but this is the first a smartwatch makes it. The Galaxy Watch5 Pro is off to a great start then - we'll have to wait and see if it does as well when it comes to actual sales.

The final available spot goes to the Apple iPhones XR as we wave goodbye to the Google Pixel 6a, Samsung Galaxy A13 and last week's leader the Asus Zenfone 9. Hero to zero in seven days, then.

See you next week!
