Top 10 trending phones of week 7

Chip, 18 February 2018

There's a surprise - after leading our trending chart for five weeks as a rumored phone the Xiaomi Redmi 5 couldn't retain the lead once it became official.

The reason being its Pro version, which debuted alongside it and shot straight to the top of our popularity contest. And to make this an even better week for the Chinese manufacturer, the Xiaomi Mi A1 takes third.

A trio of Samsung phones follows - the current Galaxy S8 flagship, its upcoming Galaxy S9 successor and the mid-ranger Galaxy Galaxy J7 Pro.

Huawei Honor 9 Lite slides behind another Xiaomi - the Redmi 5A, while the final two spots are taken by the Oppo F5 and the Galaxy J7 Prime.

The Galaxy A8 (2018) lost quite a lot of ground dropping to seventh, while the Xiaomi Redmi 5A climbed a spot to eight.

The Oppo F5 slid down to ninth, while the Huawei Honor 9 Lite took advantage of its European launch to return to the top 10.

The hectic week and lots of action meant three members of of last week's elite dropped off this time. Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Nokia 7 Plus went down, along with the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, which was replaced by its international version.
