Rugged Cat S61 now on sale in the UK, costs a pretty penny

Cat's flagship S61 is now in stock in the UK, courtesy of Unlocked Mobiles. It can yours for the hefty sum of £789 for the Black 64GB model with next day free delivery.

The only other UK retailer that will carry the Cat S61 seems to be Clove although it doesn't have it in stock yet - delivery is expected for the second week of July. Clove's price is also a bit higher at £799.

The Cat S61 is a survivor and a professional tool rather than a productivity champion. It packs a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS LCD in a rugged body capable of withstanding water and dust (in compliance with IP68), drops from 1.8m on concrete and covering the MIL-STD-810G standard.

There's a sufficiently quick Snapdragon 630 chipset, 4GB of RAM and a 16MP main camera. There's an ample 4,500mAh battery capable of recharging at Quick Charge 4.0 speed.

Of course the Cat S61's claim to fame are its FLIR thermal camera capable of capturing heat images and its laser-assisted distance measurement tool.
