Twitter for Mac update brings what you've been asking for

Himanshu, 31 December, 2015

Twitter has released a major update to its Mac client, bumping it to version 4.0.0 and bringing features like inline video playback, GIFs support, and group direct messages.

With the update, Twitter for Mac users will be able to see videos play directly in their feed, see animations without leaving their timeline, as well as create and receive private notes with up to 50 people. In addition, you'll now also be able to mute specific accounts, and get your Twitter Highlights right on your desktop.

The update also brings along an updated design, an optional dark theme, as well as Quote Tweet feature. The updated app is now available for download from the Mac App Store.

In my experience, app client loads content faster than the web. Especially in lower spec system. (loading Twitter contents with Corebird in Fedora linux is a way faster than loading it with Firefox. Web browser is resource hungry, isn't it?)
