Anonymous, 07 Jun 2023Is this brand safe or full of spyware?I was going to sell one here at my shop. I'll try looking at all the domains it tries to contact, if I remember, and reply here. I've seen a few of these Ulefone phones before and though I've not checked network traffic they don't have much bloat at least. I didn't notice any of the bloat apps running in the background but I didn't really check for that either. The most bloat is stuff like Toolbox app, which has some compass, barometer, picture hanging etc. Kind of stuff. No games or netflix kind of crap preinstalled, I don't even think they came with Facebook though I might be wrong. Its been a few weeks since I had this model in. The amount of spyware is probably similar to what you find on stock ROM Samsung devices.
What I know for certain is that Google stuff is preinstalled, if you consider that spyware. You can also remove a bunch of stuff with ADB commands.
I think the speaker is more for loud environments than sound quality. It is louder than my Kali LP6 speakers I think. (Kali LP6 sound WAY better obviously).
Its not slow like the Power Armour 16 Pro. Not a gaming phone either.
Night vision camera is meh, normal camera is better than my S8. Lack of OIS is a bummer so keep a steady hand or use a gimbal.
Massive battery.
Phone is larger and heavier than most phones.
I'd send some photos I took with the one I sold to show you guys camera quality but I didn't save them
I haven't tried rooting one but I doubt its possible.
If you don't put sensitive info on your phone, lack of android updates isn't a huge deal. Some apps might not be compatible with older versions of android but you can usually find older versions of the app with apkmirror or apkpure or something. In my shop at least the most amount of "hacking" I see is people's screen digitizers getting damaged and they think its someone else controlling the screen, or they install a bunch of phone optimizer apps or keyboard themes and crap like that. Not saying it isn't a risk, but you know your own threat level.
I did not test fingerprint reader or faceID, someone I sold a different ulefone (18T) to said it was really fast with the fingerprint reader though. Not sure if its the same reader in these different phones.
Sorry for ranting without accurate information I just think these phones are cool.

kevvv, 10 Jun 2023No phone is free of spyware. Not even iPhones or Pixels.trure but there are differences when it comes to its possibility. In my personal experience, my credit card information was leaked and I lost $800 within 2 months of using Armor12.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2023Seen this before agm phoneYes, I had AGM H5 Pro that supposedly had upgraded speaker as the H5 & Glory phones was so bad, The Pro sounded terrible playing music, no bass at all and if turned up with EQ the speaker broke up and sounded worse. Ulefone had the Armor 16 with this same speaker as 21 and it was also terrible, unless this is redesigned it will also be crap. Oukitel WP22 is supposed to be better but ? My old Sonim XP8 with dual front speakers that are smaller (but bigger than most others) sound amazing with bass turned up, the back of speakers use entire inside of phone as box like Kyocera phones, don't see why the others companies can't figure out how to make loud, good for music speaker.

I was wondering how a "Sony Walkman" style phone would look on 2023, this pretty much it. Shame Sony doesn't put out curious phones anymore, only super expensive slabs which are no slouch btw, but lack any personality and fun.
