The difference between the Thermal and the normal one is only the camera and it uses a different space... they really should have released ONE version, with the thermal camera included, it's not that they used the thermal space for something else as happened in previous ones.

Here are a few tweaks I'd make to the it if I were Ulefone, I'd replace the back screen with another lens to make it a quad cam with the lens being a 50 or 32 inch MP periscope with a 2.5x or 3x optical zoom. Add the fingerprint scanner on screen as well and make it at least an optical one and finally offer about 3 years of support (maybe major two android upgrades and three or four security patches of support. Considering these changes the price doesn't need to be change that much but I believe the phone would draw a lot more attention.

TrainingAddict, 25 Feb 2025Expect bare Android without any updates Your comment is incorrect, my old Ulefone X7 Pro, received OTA update about every 6 months, the last one was in AUGUST 2024, and was very stable for about 4 years.
My newer Ulefone 27 i got in November already received 3 OTA updates.
Sincerely, and surprisingly the Ulefone brand is very reliable, and have OTA and Android updates.

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2025I mean, that makes sense considering this phone (or rugged ... moreDevices aimed at those type of environments generally have software support as a real selling point. Zebra, Honeywell and Samsung generally have much more in terms of OS upgrades than Ulefone offers, which goes a long way to justifying the high cost of these type of devices.

IPS-LCD-Lover-2025, 25 Feb 2025Hi Ulefone. Good specs. Does it have infrared camera sensor... moreBro would rather buy an e-waste with LCD than a literal rugged phone, designed for extreme work, with an OLED screen.

TrainingAddict, 25 Feb 2025Expect bare Android without any updates I mean, that makes sense considering this phone (or rugged phones in general) aren't aimed primarily at daily casual semi/multitasking purposes for the average consumer. This is a "prosumer" phone (not your typical enthusiast either, unless one finds these hardware features very appealing) meant to be used in more harsh environments and also to replace many gadgets into one.

Zendroid, 25 Feb 2025Has anyone tried this brand? How's the os build. Expect bare Android without any updates

The version with thermal camera has been highly anticipated by me for a while. Maybe it's just me but the camera options on any phone are fun to play with and night vision and thermal vision would be fun, and the 3.5 jack and memory card. It's like the flagship from the future, or what we used to think the future would be. That's why I'm willing to wait.

This phone seems... fine. Nothing wrong with the chipset, large battery is a plus, and it's good they've gone and given it 1TB of storage given it's not like NAND is expensive.

The problem is this is probably going to be a really expensive phone, and for what this will cost Ulefone's usual bad support won't cut it, and the screen is just... there's no other words for it, it's just bad. The brightness is decent but given this has no LTPO and a middling FHD+ resolution it's not good enough to just be 'decent'.

Wonder when Oukitel or Uniheertz or Doogee will come with simmilar specced phone also SiCa batteries for much more juice. And one extra periscope camera plus massive ultrawide 1inch type sensor would be a fun to see.

                        this is a beast.

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2025this is a rugged phone thoBut still considering that D9300+ and 1TB its solid for big games.

Finally after much years we got rugged flagship phone

[deleted post]This is a rugged phone, not a normal flagship phone, pal!
It mainly combines flagship specs and rugged sturdiness, so unless it's over like 1500 bucks, it's quite worth.

Woah a rugged phone with flagship specs? They're heading into the right direction. Keep it up, honestly I might buy one too if it's available around my place.

I wouldn't really care much about thermal cam, but still this is worth looking at. You got flagship specs, ONE WHOLE TERABYTE of storage and i can't just leave the durability here, it's a rugged phone, so it should be heavy duty durable. And also, that extra clock(?) and design looks quite premium too, for a flagship rugged phone.

Has anyone tried this brand? How's the os build.
