Unreturned Samsung Galaxy Note7 units in Canada will also be disconnected from mobile networks on Dec 15

Himanshu, 08 December 2016

Like it's being done in Australia, unreturned Samsung Galaxy Note7 units in Canada will also be disconnected from mobile networks on December 15, the company said in a press release.

A battery charge-limiting update will be rolled out on December 12, and WiFi and Bluetooth functionalities will also be disabled on the same day.

Samsung revealed that around 90% of the Galaxy Note7 devices purchased in Canada have been returned by users.

"We have been in continuous communication with Note7 customers to remind them about the need to return their recalled device and will continue to communicate daily with a push notification about this network deactivation event to ensure they continue to receive adequate notice."

In case of emergency, Note7 devices in Canada will be able to dial 911 though. For those who aren't in the know, Samsung has already shut down mobile network access for unreturned Note7 units in New Zealand.

Not now!! Why didn't you return it when they were recalled? Recalled twice with options but many totally refused.
