USA says Huawei has access to network backdoors

Yordan, 12 February 2020

The war between United States and Huawei keeps going, and now it seems we are entering a new phase. US Officials have gone on record saying that Huawei has backdoor access to networks from all over the globe for over a decade.

National security adviser Robert O’Brien was quoted that there is evidence that Huawei “has the secret ability to access sensitive and personal information in the systems it manages and sells around the world”, without revealing any more details aside from the issue being related to 4G equipment.

USA says Huawei had access to network backdoors for over a decade

Claims are that even though telecom makers are required to build ways for law enforcement, Huawei has been using the backdoors without telling carriers. Officials from three nations said the United States kept the information highly classified and has only now provided details to the UK and Germany.

Huawei denied any allegations. A senior company executive said the use of legal interception interface is strictly regulated and operated only by network officials. He also added that Huawei employees are not allowed to access the networks.

This is hardly a positive development for Huawei, which seems more unlikely than ever to regain its access to the US market or be allowed to do business with US companies. That would almost certainly force the company to develop its Google services alternative if it wants to make its phones competitive in markets outside China.

But not for rest of the world

If they know about these back doors, maybe they also use them and this is why it has taken them so long to notify others of the existence of them.

More propaganda from usa government. Publish the Huawei "backdoor" evidence if you are so confident. Huawei dare you!
