MWC 2012: Various brands overview
MWC 2012
ZTE PF200 and N910
ZTE has really outdone itself this year. We already lost count on the announced devices at the MWC. We made another trip to ZTE's booth and we took pictures of every phone we missed the first time.
We started with the most interesting of the bunch - the LTE-enabled, dual-core PF200 and N910, which run on ICS.
The PF200 packs a 4.3-inch qHD screen, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage and an 8MP camera plus an HD front snapper for video chats.
The N910 is slightly less capable with a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a 5MP/VGA camera combo.
ZTE Blade II
ZTE Blade II, a successor of the one of the most popular carrier-bound devices ever - the first Blade - was announced at the MWC this year too. It has a 3.5-inch WVGA display and is based on Qualcomm's MSM7227A platform with a 1GHz processor and 512MB RAM. The specs sheet also includes a 5MP rear and a VGA front camera.
The Blade II runs on the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich with some ZTE customizations on top of it.
The White Blade II looks and feels really good and the metallic battery cover is something we really like. We bet this Blade will follow the success of the first one.
ZTE Fashion TV phone
In case you've missed the news, ZTE and Fashion TV launched a fashion version of the popular ZTE Blade. ZTE brought it on the MWC so we decide to take it for a few shots.
Nothing surprising though, it's a Blade with some Fashion TV logos and wallpapers.
ZTE U970 hands-on
This unnamed fella is quite a powerhouse. It has a dual-core 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage and a 5MP/0.3 camera combo.
The U970 features a 4.3-inch qHD display, but it doesn't feel that big. Its back uses a textured matte plastic, so fingerprints and smudges won't be a common thing.
Finally, the U970 runs a stock Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. Judging by the logo on the front, it will become available in China soon.
ZTE N960 hands-on
This one is a CDMA droid with a 4.3-inch WVGA screen and a 600MHz processor. Other specs worth mentioning are the 3 megapixel snapper, Wi-Fi and GPS.
Despite the modest chipset, the N960 smartphone is obviously capable enough to run Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
ZTE Nova 4.0 hands-on
The Nova 4.0 is another ICS-running droid. It has a 4-inch WVGA display and an 800MHz single-core processor. A 5MP rear and a VGA front camera are also on board.
The phone is very well built and its back is fingerprint-resistant.
ZTE Nova 3.5 hands-on
The Nova 3.5 looks much like the Nova 4.0, but comes with a smaller 3.5-inch display with HVGA resolution and a less-capable 3 megapixel rear snapper. The rest of the specs and the design are similar to what the Nova 4.0 offers.
ZTE Style Q hands-on
ZTE Style Q should be an entry-level messenger with exchangeable battery covers. It has a 2.8" QVGA touchscreen and a four-row QWERTY keyboard below the display.
Style Q has a 600MHz processor inside, which once again turns out enough to run Android 4.0 ICS. There camera combo on board the smartphones includes a 3.2MP unit at the back and a VGA snapper at the front.
ZTE V856 hands-on
The ZTE V865 is another entry-level smartphone running on Android ICS. It has a 2.8-inch QVGA display, a 600MHz processor and a 2MP camera (with a VGA one at the front for video chats).
The key selling point of this smartphone is its dual-SIM functionality.
ZTE Mimosa Mini
The Mimosa Mini is the same glossy black device as the V858, but lacks the dual-SIM slots. To make up for that, it comes with a better 3.2 megapixel main camera.
The Mimosa Mini has a bigger Mimosa X sibling based on the Tegra 2 chipset and with a 4.3-inch qHD display, but it wasn't available at the ZTE's booth by the time we were there.
ZTE Acqua (Skate Acqua) hands-on
Now we are going back to the 1GHz league with the (Skate) Acqua. It's based on the Qualcomm's MSM7227A chipset with a single core 1GHz processor, Adreno 200GPU and 512MB RAM.
The Acqua has a 4-inch WVGA display, 4GB internal storage and a 5 megapixel camera with HD recording. Its back is made of textured matte plastic, so no fingerprints here too.
ZTE Kis hands-on
The ZTE Kis is nothing you haven't heard from ZTE yet - based on the MSM7227A chipset (1GHz CPU, Adreno 200 GPU, 1GB RAM) and using a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen.
Just as expected, the ZTE Kis runs on Android 4 ICS, has a 5MP camera and 4GB internal storage. And its body is quite fingerprint-resistant as well.
