Vertu Signature for Bentley goes feature phone

25 June, 2015

A British-built luxury smartphone for a British-built luxury car – Vertu unveiled its second phone aimed specifically at Bentley owners. Unlike the first one, the Vertu Signature for Bentley is not a smartphone, it's a classic feature phone instead, but somehow manages to be more expensive.

The phone has been inspired by the Bentley Mulsanne Speed and built of some of the same materials too. The carbon fiber weave for the phone is the same as that for the car, there's Beluga Black calf leather on the back, sourced from the same tannery as the hides for the Mulsanne.

You can customize your Vertu Signature to match your Bentley with a choice of leathers, precious gems and colors. There's a Bentley Flying B logo made out of titanium. The keys on the keypad are covered in sapphire crystals, the keys themselves sit on rubies. So, every text you send is literally worth a thousand bucks.

The phone itself is worth several times that - £14,500. The Vertu Signature for Bentley will be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Concourse d'Elegance first and then finally launch on September 18. You can pre-order one today if you already have the cash stashed and the Mulsanne Speed parked.

By the way, the Vertu Signature Touch for Bentley, an Android-powered smartphone is made out of Grade 5 titani7um, quilted calf leather and screws modelled on Bentley's air vents. It costs €13,000.
