I really don't understand why these Vertus cost so much. What if one happens to lose it? It really wouldn't matter to that person since he/she has to be rich. But i would never give it up if i found one !!

to the last Vertu used ..how the hell do you know that no one really used a vertu...oh my god come outta shell yo....its just an expensive piece of show off ..with some solid hardware attached to it...nothing else....and it suits the poser like VERTU-USER to do a bit of show off thats alll

you know...i think its funny that all these people are commenting about a phone that they have neither seen or used in person. I have a vertu signature s model and I can tell you the build quality is excellent. apart from being a quite a looker its an extremely sturdy phone. Although I have to be honest aside from the aforementioned pros, the phone itself cannot possibly justify the price I paid for it. I know a lot of Vertu owners will try to criticize me so they can rationalize their purchase, but there is no way an outdated symbian operating system can justify the 11000 price tag....regardless of materials. and by the way, the screen is not all that scratch proof. to be honest, i have no buyers remorse because of the money i spent on the phone, but from a free market view, this phone's utility does not really equalize with the price tag.

For isntance you get an impressive and innovative 1001 hp engine with Veyron. Only the exterior looks like one. But this "Bugatti" has a 385 kbps 3G engine instead while my current Nokia has a 10 Mbps 3G. If I go further by your metaphor it is a VW Polo inside but an old Lotus Eclat outside (yeah the design is not that impressive and even dull outside too).
The only remarkable point about this phone is its price tag. So if you're both rich and only use the the call and hangup buttons this phone is just for you. Not only a tech geek would like to be seen while using this phone in public :)

It is just like other phones assembled in a factory. but then added some manual work on finishing. The SMT assembly inside makes it impossible to assembly any component on it manually so only the finishing is hand made. The price is very very expensive. Just to let people know that you have an expensive phone but 3G only 385 kbps just like 3 year old cheap phones :) C'mon .

this phone z like The buggati of phones. Its not just a phone for anyone, its purchased on order and hand assembled proffesional craftsmen, it costs from tens of thousands of $s to even hundreds of thousands(limited editions). Its stunning attention to detail and the use of precious materials tops up the luxurious design, making it nothing less than a fine piece of art. Vertu is not just any other phone brand it is a super brand which has no comparison. So for all yo criticising it think of this, unless you luck a sense of style or you are quite philanthropic, if you are ridiculously rich like say, Jay-Z, Trump, Beyonce e.t.c why not buy this work of art?

I am an Alpha and i do not need a phone like this to enhance my appearance, if i were to have the need to attract attention to my self because of a lack of self confidence then i would probably purchase a nice diamond ring and then just slip out my RAZR 2 v8 and that would be just sufficient, until then i will keep my OT-S853 and Nokia 6300 and SE K800i and my V8 Motto.

And for what it is worth, it is a very good phone, the engineering behind it! You are paying for the craftmanship. It's not ment to dance about like a Sony Ericsson, it fills the basic functions of a mobile, talk and text with the extra feature of a quick change SIM at the top so you do not have to open the back of the phone up! Very Very handy for people who fly a lot for work or personal reasons.
So A) get facts right PLEASE, if you are going to comment. B) learn a bit about things before you fire comments off.
