Sony Xperia X isn't afraid to get wet despite the lack of certification
Sony hasn't had that much luck when it comes to waterproofing for the past year or so. Ever since the company's "Z" flagship lineup and its ad campaigns got caught up in a major scandal last year, culminating in changes to the waterproof policy, the Japanese giant has been a bit hesitant to market waterproofing on its phones.
Looking at Sony's current "X" lineup, only the Sony Xperia X Performance officially has IP68 certification, meaning it can last up to 30 minutes under 1.5 meters of water and is dust proof as well. The basic Xperia X makes no such claims, but a YouTube video, courtesy of user XEETECHCARE shows the device fairs pretty well after a short dip in shallow water.
The touch screen doesn't seem to be optimized for use when wet, unlike some past Sony models. Frankly, that is to be expected, but it is still quite surprising to see that the speaker and microphone suffered no water damage, nor did the charging port. The camera was fine as well.
All things considered, it is nice to know that in a worse case scenario, the Xperia X could probably survive, but we would definitely advise against experimenting with your unit.

Yup. It was the best midrange phone of its time. Mine got scratches too. The one thing cracked is the plastic back cover

After some days I was reading the comments and they youtuber replied and said the phone is working absolutely fine if there was sign of water in the phone the camera lens would be the first to show
