vivo introduces a different Y200 smartphone
The vivo Y200 series expanded today in China with a new Y200 variant. It is a new smartphone with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, not to be mistaken with the phone with the same name, sold in India.
This Y200 has a 6.78” AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution. It has a punch hole for the 8 MP selfie camera and a fingerprint scanner under the panel. The screen itself has a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and supports up to 120 Hz refresh rate.
The Y200's back has two cameras - a 50 MP main shooter and a 2 MP lens for background blur in portrait shots. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and has up to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, expandable through a microSD card. The battery has 6,000 mAh capacity and supports 80W charging.
The company offers the Y200 in China with OriginOS 4. All vivo phones sold in its home market come with Jovi assistant, which is now infused with generative AI based on vivo's Blue LM.
The vivo Y200 is offered in Orange, White, and Black. Prices start from CNY1,599 (about $220/€200), and the first sale is scheduled for May 24.

That is the price in china when its sold outside of china you get a price hike due to the heavy tax, and dont you get start on me, 300$ is a midranger not a low end, a low end ranging below the 200$, heck it started at below 100$ 2 decades ago before...

Retail price is listed, CNY1,599 (about $220/€200). Below $300 (and that price is sure to fall.) Well below 300 is low end price to me, what is low end to you? Or did you mean features? Well equipped for the price to me.

True, I hate it when people try to lower the class of a smartphone. Another case is when they called S23 F3 a "midranger" despites it's pricing that more fitted into high-end. High-end: Above midrange but under flagship.
