Hn, 08 May 2022Well the chipset can actually support to 8k recordingnot just the chipset, the sensor is of high enough resolution for 8k; I've seen Iqoo make phones with the 8 gen 1 chipset with a 50 mp camera that does 8k

It's a decent Qualcomm 8 gen 1 phone for the price if you can get it in China

We don't need a smart phone at all. We don't need 120watt or faster charging but we want it. Just like people don't need to check Facebook every hour they want to. So no one is forcing you to buy a phone.

Darknoor, 02 Jun 2022That is all true and I am nearly 30 so I do remember these ... moreThat's precisely why I said, that I agree with you. We don't need, in fact my present phone, LG G8x misses out on a lot of these things. I have a SD card of 512 GB, but ya, 340+GB remains unused.
Of course, what the presently 18~20 something, the youth want, we have to have a survey to find out.
Yes, you're right. Relevant things need to be worked upon. Things like quality of optics (progress yes, but slow), quality of audio played, loudspeakers quality, and definitely not the least, the bloatware needs to go, and software should actually be made lighter in the long run, by enabling us to choose what we need in the UI.

Samath N8 808 owner, 02 Jun 2022You're right. I agree with you.. for the moment.
You ... moreThat is all true and I am nearly 30 so I do remember these well.
But like I said as humans do we really need all that?
(You do not need to read the rest)
Do we need 150W charging? 120W is an overkill already.
Do we need 8k? 4k is already sort of an overkill.
Do we need an SD on a phone that comes with a base of 256GB? (Well yes if we think 8k is valid apparantly)
Do we need screens that go beyond 120Hz and anything above 400ppi? I believe humans can't really see a difference on a phone screen with more than these.
Instead of increasing unnecessary numbers, I wish companies would refine what we already have.

Darknoor, 01 Jun 2022No one is against saving precious memories but 8k or even 4... moreYou're right. I agree with you.. for the moment.
You see, I'm 36 years old and I remember the 2008 era where 480p was mobile standard, and 720p30 was the big goddamned deal! Such sharpness and details! Wow.
Today the magic is gone because industry pushed itself ahead.
Similarly what I imagine about the future is maybe some 8K being the base standard. 2K/4K probably on budget/ low end handsets.
Of course, I'm not contesting if we need it or not.

Samath N8 808 owner, 31 May 2022Probably they're concerned about future proofing. Prob... moreNo one is against saving precious memories but 8k or even 4k are a bit much, our eyes as humans do not really catch every detail and the 60fps looks unnatural sometimes.
I have Note 4 with that chip, but I also never knew (or just forgot) it did 4k. My even older 28nm exynos Galaxy Note 4 could and that camera takes better photos than half midrangers these days. So I do wonder along with you about wether we progressed at all.

Darknoor, 31 May 2022Why care so much about 8k?
You are NOT a professional to m... moreProbably they're concerned about future proofing. Probably they'll want to keep their present safe as memories.
I still have a bunchload of memories, but all in 360p or 144p or so. How I wish I would've invested in something futuristic in 2005?
Let them not suffer the same regret.
PS: not related but today, I just discovered that my 2016 Redmi Note 4 can do 4K60fps video recording, using Open Camera out of the box. And its just a Snapdragon 625. Makes me wonder, have we progressed at all, or its just a hogwash we're seeing.

Why care so much about 8k?
You are NOT a professional to make use of it, you are not skilled enough, you do not have enough storage and you do not have an 8k screen.
Did you also forget the asking price? It is reasonable.
People has GOT to stop complaining about things that can never happen and being oh so unreasonable.

whyyyy there is no midrange ph... more1- Someone like you will never benifit from half these specs.
2- The price you asked for can never have these features, that would be a high end premium or a flagship device not a midrange.
3- IP ratings are useless proven by most of us who used one with and one without, notice also that warranty does not cover water damage evenwith IP68.
4- What you described is a dream phone not something that can happen any time soon, like asking for a 650bhp + 600 torque V8 AWD car with ABS, Brembo brakes, ambedient lighting inside, two zone climate control, 10" screen with worldwide GPS + Android auto and crApple carplay + 20inch wheels + HUD + Cruise control and lane assist and parking asssist that can go for 800km/tank with superb kpg for the reasonable price of $30k IN THE BASE TRIM MODEL

Hn, 08 May 2022Well the chipset can actually support to 8k recordingbut the sensor doesn't support 8k . here it can take 4k 60fps without ois and 4k 30 fps with ois. Here we get a good ultawide camera. It has LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 with snapdragon 8 gen 1 with a good cooling system that we often get with iqoo phones. This is a very good deal after getting some bank offers.
