Does vivo want to compete with xiaomi with those "strong chipset but mediocre at everything else to save costs" market? The battery seems to be testing the waters though. Good luck for the buyers, your phone is the pilot test of this experimental phone setup.

I'm puzzled with that phone. At first, looks great. Thinking twice, it's ... Meh at best.
Price, after import and all the hassles with delivery or customs, more near 400 euros/ USD than 300.
Pictures are not very good. Especially considering is 400, there are far better alternatives for pictures.
Then, that glass, and battery, no trust.at all.
Reading battery life results, not awesome, just, ok, considering it's supposed size and frugal processor.
Then, dubious with that software, particularly privacy, and suitable drivers and optimizations. Not even rootable, no way to check what's under the hood.
Then proc, MediaTek seems a serious one in this day and age. had good results with a cheap g99 myself. With a big nice screen. Seems it's what's serious in that phone in the end.

Also what are independent labs testing those, especially considering you import yourself through Ali exp shaddy third parties , often opening the phone box.
Major brand don't push that power through batteries and phone and usb yet, it's easy to push, even cheap brands can do that. There's a reason, it's safety.

Then about your opinion, it's your opinion, I don't mind. I trust in facts myself. opinions, everyone's has one, and it's usually stinkky.

280 EUR? Dang, that's ridiculously cheap for a phone with such insane hardware and battery capacity.

Why can't Vivo just release this phone for the global market instead of the garbage V40 SE with SD 4 Gen 2?

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2024No hatefull. Just truth. If I'm speaking in all fairness it does sound out there and hateful, because, well, A; wouldn't recyclable materials be better? Experimentation in batteries is good despite some downsides, to me it's important to see what works, this is also why testing exist but that's beside the point, and the comment on pricing... you'd think if theres something like that people'd know

I don't want forced updates pretending improvement or faking security reasons. I don't want unreliable useless AI ad and so many other useless packages, annoying notifications or camera sounds you can't disable. I don't want telemetry callknng home , or googllle opening my camera because they 'improve', and even less drain my battery to run their AI business. I want to be free, as cheesy as it sounds. It's my phone, I paid a lot, it's not their anymore.

Probably you won't understand a single word of those so yes, you wouldn't need. For some people with technkca' knowledge, and have some mindset of what privacy is , it's obvious they would need.

That could be why we see only a few phones yet and it can take some time.
Experimenting if it's really that good (I think of battery life, danger)
I suspect the future iPhone slim and Slimer s25 ultra are not about that battery, too.
Yes major brands Samsung and Apple. Very shy with powerful Charging and batteries. Samsung has very bad experience with their exploding batteries in plane some years ago, related in all media's at that time. Also regulations. Myself, not confident pushing 100w in usb c cable, sleeping right next to my phone charging. Prefer to wait and see if others have - or not problems... Otherwise it looks absolute great phone but impossible to get in north america and probably in EU too. Or those far away selling website but i'm cold feet with that too for many reasons.
