vivo set to introduce its new Jovi OS with the X30 series next month
FuntouchOS has been the default Android UI for vivo phones since 2014. This will soon change as the company is launching a new version dubbed Jovi OS. Ge Yanan, who serves as the FunTouchOS Project Manager revealed the news on his Weibo profile and it looks like the upcoming X30 series will be the first phones to ship with the brand new OS.
The only piece of info that we have for the new Jovi OS so far is a design sketch for the logo so we don’t know what to expect in terms of features. Given that vivo is ready to completely rebrand its UI, we are probably in for a big redesign.
We also got another image of the X30 Pro 5G which shows the device will come with a headphone jack in the top left corner.
The X30 series will be the first vivo phones to come with a periscope camera which will offer up to 60x hybrid zoom. They are also set to pack Samsung’s Exynos 980 SoC, AMOLED displays with 90Hz refresh rate and up to 12GB RAM.
