vivo X100 Pro rumored to bring satellite connectivity
Satellite connectivity on smartphones seems to be the next big feature and a new report from leakster WhyLab suggests the upcoming vivo X100 Pro may feature satellite messaging. China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently certified the X100 Pro (V2309A model number) and one of the more interesting features on the spec sheet is two-way satellite messaging. According to the new report, X100 Pro will be able to transmit and receive texts, pictures, voice recordings and even videos in areas without Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity
Based on the new report, X100 Pro will be equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 chipset and a separate Unisoc V8821 chip that will handle satellite connectivity. Previous reports suggest the X100 Pro will feature a 53MP 1/1.43” main sensor.
The main shooter will be complemented by a 50MP (IMX758) portrait lens with 2x optical zoom and a 64MP (OmniVision OV64B) periscope module with a 100mm equivalent lens with 0.7µm native pixels and f/2.5 aperture.
The vivo X100 series is rumored to launch in China next month with three members ranging from the X100 to the X100 Pro+
