60Hz is always better, crisper than 120Hz with those three phones, i prefer 60Hz over 120Hz, more important for me than smoothnes.

Is there still a difference in display quality between 120Hz and 60Hz in the newest flagships? Note 20 Ultra, Mi 11 Ultra and X90Pro+ all clearly better at 60Hz... 120Hz makes colors more bland, text is less sharp and is just more flat or pale, i always use 60Hz, much prettier quality compared to 120Hz.

Gerry, 28 Apr 2025Is the any way to optimise the 8 elite to have better batte... moreBy ourself don't have vary options in short NO. Especially similar type of Chinese phones Xiaomi, Oppo, etc. when we install google services on them let's not forget that they work, there are also quite a few Chinese ones that also work in background.
In principle the batteries are not so bad for such size devices they are even quite good but the most annoying thing is that for so many years they have not optimized them for 4K video recording and they eat a lot of energy.
And now that we have a very good ultrawide sensor that we will use most of the time, let's replace the 23mm with it because we are used to it and they decided to put it right on the SOC, imagine what heat will be generated if we record video for a long time with the ultrawide sensor.

Gerry, 28 Apr 2025Is the any way to optimise the 8 elite to have better batte... moreSo far only Xiaomi and Oppo has optimized the battery of the SD 8 Elite. The rest are just poorly optimized even with large capacity batteries. The 8 Elite is burner and a battery hog so it would be realistic to say that not all manufacturers will be able to cool it down and make it consume less energy.

35mm? This is not dpreview and not many pro's want to buy a Vivo anyway, if they can at all and they know the thick bump is fake as in needless for the most part. Ridiculous overestimation by Vivo.

Yes Snapdragon 8 elite is a very consumption chip from energy needs and most of the phones which is use it don't get the full power of the chip because of stability is between 50-60%. Get it for a few minutes and after that trotling start. Ok we have 2 large cores but for what reason all other 6 cores is also very large even if play games don't need this many of them, if these cores be only 4 and other 2 left a very small eco for more basic and not that demand apps will have much better battery and maybe not more than 5% lost in gaming.
@jiyen235
If we follow Moore's Law, by 2027 phones should not have 1.5-2TB but 8TB of storage space.
Maybe we'll see 2TB in the next year, but for example from brands like ZTE, which will be just a competition for who launches such a phone first, and 2TB will become as widespread as 1TB is now only by 2030.
The big problem is that we continue to be forced to pay for cloud space.
The other thing is that most users, even those who shoot a lot of 4-8k videos, will need months to use up 1TB, and let's not forget that I always have a faster USB transfer and it's nice to transfer them to my computer.
With the current trend, 128GB is enough for standard users for a few years, 256GB is enough for more active users, there are rarely users who need 512GB or 1TB.
For 4-5 years now, there have been phones with similar storage, and only in the last year have the latest professional shooting modes begun to make sense from a photographic point of view, which take up more space.
Fast charging is fast enough, even if it's 100-200-300 watts, it's for a short time. Marketing watts are only for a few minutes, and most of the time, all phones are charged with about 15-30W.
Cooling is a big problem with current chips, the wiper chamber is not enough, another type of technology needs to be used, like the new ones that use vibration, but they consume energy and it will be years before they are put into phones.
For the selfie camera, the only solution is to use Google's ugly design to have a bump from edge to edge to have more depth and accommodate a larger front sensor.
we won't see better speakers because of lack of space.
we won't see better flash because cameras have become good enough to take pictures in low light a lot and flash is mainly used as a flashlight.
The displays have more or less hit the limit for brightness and a significant difference is possible if several layers are stacked in a tandem display type. Another option is the implementation of microLED, but the technology is still quite expensive, for now it is only entering smaller devices and I doubt we will see phones with it before 2030.

How do you know about the x200 ultra battery life?
Also the reason for poor battery life is the Snapdragon elite. It's garbage for battery life. X200 pro has the dimensity that's why it's got good battery life

the phone that i was the most skeptical of this year, turned out to be a certified banger. Vivo proved me wrong on my doubts with their skills. Now that's something.
I just wish their shots had more soul... more style/color like what Oppo/Xiaomi do. And perhaps better battery life as it's been pretty unsatisfactory since the X100 Ultra compared to the others. They have the X200 Pro, the one phone that is nearly at the top of all charts and now the X200 Ultra is near the bottom of it all, same happened with the X100 Pro/Ultra. Vivo are using BOE Q10 and Oppo used BOE X2, perhaps that's why the battery is worse? The IQOO 13 using the same display has far better battery life tho so it's even more confusing... Faster charging would be nice too. And the selfie cam could use an upgrade, they just need to drag and drop the V50's selfie cam and voila, best selfie configuration on a phone, only beaten in width by the Pixel and only the Magic7 Pro being a worthy competitor.
Well all that could be forgiven but the lack of a 1TB+ storage option is annoying, an Ultra phone should start at 512 GB minimum by now and 1.5-2TB should be the mid-high tier option.
Necessary improvements :
Faster charging
Better thermals
Better battery life
Larger storage configurations
Wider selfie cam with brighter aperture
Nice to have :
Thinner bezels
Brighter screen/better sustained brightness
Better speakers
Better flash
Variable aperture
