I regret buying this garbage. The curved screen is very fragile. My phone just fell from waist level, the screen broke! even though the screen protector didn't break. Replacement screen is very expensive, better to buy a new phone

Sure, we don't need 8k but at least give the option to record such just in case. There's no excuse to not add that in since the camera and processor supports it.

Drop the curved screen....unlocked on sideways...sd card is that so hard ....why 256 ...512...not enough...yess ut a sd card is cheaper and faster to carry on the go

joe nodden, 08 Jul 2023Is Mediatek still incapable of making an SoC that supports ... moreI'm guessing it's a software limitation like Samsung did with many of their phones like the A50, which are capable of doing 4k or 4k60 but not on the stock camera app, just in this case with 8k because the 9200+ has the muscle to do 8k.

this bad boy is the first smartphone with the 9200+ which supposedly is better than the gen 2 in all aspects outside of the GPU, yet here we are talking about the crucial 8K recording
too bad they have decided to make only a base version S, this is a weird mix of the previous regular x90 with the X90 Pro, some stuff is still worse than the latter, like cameras.

Is Mediatek still incapable of making an SoC that supports 8K footage? Is it the cameras? Is it the developers? I don't get it.

Have to say, it probably makes sense from the perspective of Vivo when in many markets they are way behind other brands in terms of name recognition, and maybe you want to have a simpler product portfolio until you've got more confidence in your ability to sell in good numbers, but really wish the Pro Plus was getting a global release. In its absence, waiting to see what the Honor Magic 5 Pro and Ultimate and Xiaomi 13 Ultra look like.
It just feels like for a brand that has been lauded for their absolute top end flagships and the camera systems in them, stopping short, with only this X90 Pro going global, is setting up for failure. The camera system in this is still very good but so are camera systems across the board. To me it feels like a very good system in a sea of very good systems, even if slightly less daunting a price tag for a less well known brand than the X90 Pro Plus would've carried, is actually a harder sell. I'd rather take a risk at a high price on a less well known brand for an absolutely phenomenal camera system that makes it worth the risk, rather than a very good system that probably isn't worth the risk against similarly priced, specced alternatives with better name recognition, consumer confidence etc.

Try to consider that there are a sizeable number of users who do not live in such countries/areas and situations who don't have this available as a viable nor affordable option.

I choose 4k 60fps over 8k 24 or 30fps for now.
I tried with 12t pro 8k and phone got hot so i think recording with 8k is not good for now, we need better optimized phones and higher than 1tb internal for capturing 8k.
