vivo X Fold4 to be delayed

vivo's next foldable smartphone is allegedly delayed, according to the prolific Chinese leakster who goes by Digital Chat Station on Weibo. Interestingly, he also says there is currently only one device in development, so it looks like we're not getting a vanilla model and a Pro next year as we did in 2024.

The X Fold4 will arrive a bit later in the year than the X Fold3, but do expect vivo to keep focusing on making its foldables ever thinner and lighter.

vivo X Fold3 Pro

The X Fold4 has a 6,000 mAh battery with support for wireless charging, two ultrasonic fingerprint sensors (one embedded in each screen), IPX8 water resistance, and a three-stage camera button.

On the rear will be a round centered camera island housing a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 50 MP 3x zoom periscope telephoto macro camera. At the end of his post DCS once again highlights the fact that we can expect "extreme thinness" from vivo's next folding phone, whenever it does eventually arrive.

We can go off course for a moment. In the past year, I've challenged the Open forum on reddit to prove the Open's image processing is better than the Z. No one accepted. I even re-posted the results of a blind camera comparison between the...

The Oneplus Open is basically the same thickness overall with far better camera sensors and a larger battery than the Z Fold6 and it was released LAST YEAR

"So thick" is an exaggeration. There is no magic going on here. Samsung is still using a li-on battery. The other manufacturers are using silicon-carbon. It's that simple.
