Mine still working perfectly fine in January 2025. 👍

Got the November Security Patch finally, 687MB update, so not too large, but not a small one either.

DarlingYext, 14 Dec 2024Well I mean, I don't know about that. Oh and one more ... moreHaha, I know how OLED works but thanks. My OP7 Pro died a little over a month back and I don't ever exceed even 40-50% of the brightness on phones. Still managed to get burn in with heavy PUBG gaming. Would you mind doing a stress test of sorts? Just don't do it at Max brightness. Maybe let me know how games pan our on it. Even with how goofy it has gotten PUBG and PUBG New State still remains my go to game on phones and since the note has nearly perfect display (short of it being a flat one) I would use it for movies and shows.

Also, can you confirm whether the USB port is 3.1 or better? Thanks in advance if you accept ✌️

[deleted post]Well I mean, I don't know about that. Oh and one more thing to note about the Note, mine is about 1,5 years old and it has a battery health of 97% (yes the software keeps track of that, I can check it in settings, first time I've ever seen that on android), which I think is really good, especially considering that I always have my phone set at max brightness and always on 120hz, never use power saving mode and such. I love how bright and colorful the display is and I mean that's what I payed for, so I use it to the fullest, but you should absolutely use auto brightness and maybe max it out only sometimes, as the display can have burn-in if you have it on max brightness all the time.

"Also why does it say optical fingerprint instead of ultrasonic?"

Not sure about why it says that because it does absolutely have a gigantic ultrasonic fingerprint
scanner, which is the Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max, and even this GSMArena article about the phone talks about said feature. I absolutely love that feature, and when I sometimes switch to my other phones, that's the first thing I miss from this one, it's just so fast and accurate and highly customisable, just like the rest of the phone because of Origin OS, I have my own fingerprint icon set as a chinese charachter which means "Love", but it could be so many other things, and then the second thing I miss from this phone when I switch, is just the display size and resolution and the third is the alert slider, which I use every single day.

Also why does it say optical fingerprint instead of ultrasonic? I saw a couple videos specifically praising the large and fast Ultrasonic Fingerprint Reader on this phone.

Can I get some recommendations for screen protectors that will work with the fingerprint reader?

I put i glass one on it and it doesn't work at all.

Think I'm in love. Near perfect phone if it just had flat display, sd card and audio jack. I never knew this one existed. Too bad it's not available on any trustable e-commerce website here in India. 8 Gen 1 is still plenty powerful IMO and I really want this thing now.

It's too big of a phone for me to use every day, but it definitely fits the requirements for entertainment.

Don't forget the width, it's so nice to have a wider than usual display!

Wow I love this phone it's so nice and easy to use with this huge display. I'm getting older and my eye sight isn't what it used to be so having a bigger screen on my phone is always a plus. Though I can imagine it didin't sell well since we haven't seen anymore 7 inch devices. This is a real shame because that extra 0.2mm really makes a difference for video content.

I always keep my device on auto brightness and almost never go max brightness so I've never really had burn in on any of my screens. Apart from my ancient Galaxy S2 9100.

I'd say this size for a phone is too risky and too expensive. For people looking for a big phone, 6.8 inch is probably the sweetspot and for people looking for a small phone it's obviously gigantic. Still, it's unique and I'm glad that from all companies vivo was the one making this and they didn't settle for a Y or V series huge phone, they simply made it a flagship. However I don't think it sold well, not even in China.

Small tip, the display may be LTPO but do use the auto brightness, otherwise it will have burn-in in the upper left and right corners like mine does. It doesn't bother me and I prefer using all my phones on max brightness, but just keep this in mind.

I recently picked up a Vivo X Note and I'm glad it's still getting update. Why not more companies make 7 inch devices anymore??
