Sam, 21 Mar 2016Hey Guys... I'm just planning to buy a smartphone under 12... moreBetter wait. Today at gizchina.com I read Vivo is launching a new device globally on 24th March 2016. It will be called Vivo V3 (successor of V1) and use three types of material: metal, wood & crystal glass in its construction. They are touting V3 to have awesome speed, but I least trust their marketing campaigns, they will fit a cheap two year old Snapdragon 410 or 615 chipset and tout them as super fast!!! Let's wait and see if they can shed the usual crap policy of exuberantly expensive smartphones with diddly hardware. Finger crossed.

AnonD-515695, 17 Mar 2016My husband has been using Vivo Y51 for more than two months... moreThe Y51 is the first smartphone that Vivo assembled outside their China factory. We can better call it assembled in India. Which is good for us Indians and it makes manufacturing a little bit cheaper for them. Thank you Vivo. Now coming to the handset, it is mostly made out of plastic, a 5 inch low cost sub par LCD screen that is not even have HD resolution (720p) leave alone full HD (1080p), low end & cheap quad core Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB RAM and 16 GB ROM. Front and rear cameras are 5 MP & 8 MP respectively. Battery capacity is measly 2350 mAh only.
Comparing it to Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, a trendsetter which is made out of metal exuding a premium feel, a bigger 5.5 inch full HD (1080p) LCD screen, mid end octa core Snapdragon 650 processor, 2GB RAM & 16 GB ROM. Front and rear cameras are 5 MP & 16 MP respectively. Battery capacity is a high 4000 mAh. So Note 3 is undoubtedly 2x times more expensive as well as 2x times better than Y51 is very department bar none while retailing at INR 10K in India.
So how much the Y51 cost is India? I hope this time Vivo have priced Y51 at a justifiable INR 6K is comparison Note 3? Hold your breath as it costs INR 12K in India. Why this unjustified 2 times inflated price? Better ask Vivo. Now you guys/ girls decide whether you want to be a dumbass OR a smart buyer.

My husband has been using Vivo Y51 for more than two months and this phone has performed really well. He travels a lot for business purposes and this phone has stood at par with his blackberry in terms of speed and performance. Amazing battery life it offers, the camera quality and processor speed are decently well.
