The cool thing about this is that the version of the LiMo OS that installed on the phone is developed by Vodafone. Samsung just provided the 'shell' to put it in. The buttons around the handset(They are specific to the phone features such as vodafone People), everything to do with the funtions is vodafone's brain child. cool huh... Other manufacturers will surely in the future want to make a Vodafone 360 handset, just considering the number of Vodafone customers that there are globally. Think, all across eurpose, austrailia, middle east, india... the global customer base is huge so any consumer orientated manufacturer would be crazy to not want to... apart from nokia, as they have interests in only their own Symbian and Maemo.
The other great thing is that the Vodafone People Service will be available to EVERYONE on ANY network!! With its own built in App store, thats taking money from other networks customers!
GO VODAFONE!!!! :)

Mid October release for the H1 and M1 - the OS is specifically designed to sync with social networking sites and your contacts (and other PIM data) are saved for you through an app for PC. If you lose your phone, all your data is safe and it can be synced straight back to your new phone! Awesome!

I love how most of the people making negative comments about vodafone, or the handset being on vodafone seem to either have no grasp of the english language. Maybe its a good thing vodafone has the handset may mean less stupid people will get it. As if the cant type coherently how are they to manage to use a phone!

Yes, it's on Vodafone. And yes, they have the best coverage in the UK, so technically speaking, Samsung have picked the best network to release this product on. Notably, as many of its features are GPS and Internet dependent (and let's not forget that the V also own the strongest data network in the world) there'd be no point relaseing it on any other service provider.
And to all the haters of Vodafone, let me say this. Loads of people want an iPhone on Voda and can't get one, so are with O2 against their preference. But Vodafone did turn down a bid for the iPhone (and the recent merger with Orange and T-Mobile - Ora-bile) to concentrate their funds on developing innovative new products instead of pouring money into dated products and services.
This is to be the first of many very innovative and evolutionary products for the Vodafone brand, and I say hats off to them.

To all you people who are complaining this is only on vodafone remember this, I work for vodafone and have forced to watch whilst all the other networks get better and more exciting exclusives than our selves.
Did we get the iphone, the G1, the Omnia HD, HTC Touch HD, SE W995, Toshiba TG01, LG Arena/Crystal/Viewty Smart, or the upcoming Palm Pre?
No, we got the Blackberry Storm...oh dear.
Leave us alone to enjoy our one decent exclusive and stop being greedy.

The design of the handset looks alike Omnia HD but the size of the screen has been shrunk about 0.2 inches.
