Hello All,
I just got this phone yesterday night, so this is my first impressions on it, and I will try to write another full review after few days,
This is my first Android phone; I had to use iPhone for the last 4 years and BB torch 9800 until last night,
I really fed-up of the BB battery after I had a Horrible Time with this BB.
Any way finally I got this small jenny “Vodafone 858 Smart”, so this is my first impressions.
1. It is really small light smart phone so if you get bored from the heavy bulky and big smart phones, you got the right decision.
2. If you are angry about the restrictions, domination and regularly feed of Apple or BB you got the right decision when getting Android phone.
3. I got the phone with customized Vodafone version of Android 2.2, but I had upgraded it to the 2.3.7 Gingerbread and it works perfect and even with better performance.
4. The battery life so far is really good, especially compared to the BB.” I will give a final evaluation after 3 or 5 days”.
5. I had downloaded many programs from the App store all of them forking fine.
6. The telephone build is nice no cracking sounds while holding it, looks nice, it came with 3 back cover with 3 colors.
7. The only thing annoying me is the keyboard, if you are a heavy “texter” and using the keyboard so much you will find it difficult for you, but It is because of the small screen.
Final words, it is not a business phone like BB and it is not full of fun like iPhone, but I will rate it as 5 stars of five, it is a good entry point to the Android world, it is perfect for regular users they are looking for a very good smart phone with very good reasonable price, that will serve the fun, games, social networks, and regular use.

The phone is good with the price and the things that can be done but there are couple of things tat is not good .
The battery is not good it cant even stand for 3 hours when using web browsing messenger or other things even with only phone standby and normal talking the battery hold only about 6 hours
No call timer, data counter sms counter I install form market
no area messages
Difficult to see the delivery reports
But with some other problem this is a good phone if battery life was good then a superb android phone for very less price

how do you send songs on this phone...it annoys me because anytime i want to send songs on it it doesnt work...so if u know the answer post it up..thanks

I bought this phone , it's amazing , do not to worry , this can give you everything that you want from this phone.Touch sensitivity is good.Only one problem is when you opened some applications at same time you will get some angry with your phone because sometime phone is stuck. However this phone good with how much have you spent for this . :D

does this phone able to do anything possible on sony ericsson xperia x8 . SUCH as installing and using most of the apps etc. what are the weakness when compared with x8.

why are my contacts doubled up and how do i stop it from doing this? its single in contacts menu but in messages it is doubled.

Planing to buy Vodafone number... Please dont....why ? ...then read this !!!
Vodafone Essar India is a FRAUD.
Dont ever think of buying any handset contract from Vodafone....They will fool you !!!
I was a Vodafone customer since 2007 when my billing number was a prepaid number...
In 2009 I got a call from DSA who work for Vodafone and offered me to get my number converted to Billing which I did....And after that I regretted like anything....they use to charge me blindly and never use to waive off the charge and 1 moth back ago I requested for 99Rs Plan for 2GB and then I also requested to decrease my credit limit to 500 and the contact center advisor who was from a DSA he did not decreaed my limit and I was in the intension that I will not going to cross my limit I was using the internet like anything and after 2 weeks I recieved a message stating that I have crossed my credit limit of 3000...I was surprised and angry...I called up Vodafone Customer Service and they said my credit limit was not decreased....and on my bill cycle date I receieved a text message that I have made a usage of Rs 7511 .....I have raised a complaint and I recieved a call from Nodal Officer Sharon D'silva and she was rude and instead of listening me she was raising her voice and then she hang up on me....In telecom industry is an integrity issue to hangup on customer....but she thought who cares....then again I send a complaint email to Vodafone and they repeating the same thing again and again that we cant reverse the invalid charge......
My question is what is the purpose of having a credit limit if you usage can go more than your credit limit...
I was p#%$%^ off !!!
Apart from everything if you try to call customer service they will listen to your query and they will hangup on you...there is nothing like quality....Actually its not Vodafone Essar India its actually their employee are uneducated and useless !!!
Customer service agent who dont even know how to speak !!!
Very soon I'll create a blog or I'll create a page on Facebook "Vodafone Essar Frauds"....please suscribe it if u were fooled in past....We are customer and we are THE BOSS !!! we should get what we are paying for !!!

I bay Vodafone 858 and after 2 weeks touch screen is down.Is it cheap phone. Now i have my old iphone 3g (3 y.o) functional 100%.
