Waze gets new Retro Mode in latest update
Retro Mode is a new feature on navigation app Waze that lets you set vibes based on past decades. There’s a 70s mode that transforms your car avatar to a flower van and adds a DJ as you navigator while the mood is set to a lava lamp. The 80s theme has a racer sports car as your avatar and an aerobics instructor as the navigator as well as a boombox as your mood emoticon. The 90s mode brings a two-door SUV as you car avatar, a pop-star navigator and a desktop PC as your mood.
Music streaming service TuneIn is partnering with Waze to deliver curated playlists based on the different modes. Users in the US and Canada get 90s hits, those in France are treated to 80s music while the UK gets the 70s tunes. The new Waze Retro Mood is available globally for a limited time in English, French and Portuguese languages. Users who want to try out the new features should update their app to the latest version and can then head over to the My Waze menu in the app.

Nope. It's not better than anything. It's the worst NAV App ever. And very very bad on privacy. It needs permission to access everything in your phone.
