Week 16 in review: Le Max 2, ZUK Z2 Pro, and Nubia Z11 mini announced
Motorola's Moto G is perhaps the company's most popular smartphone, and all three generations of it have been hugely successful, though it was the first one that made the greatest splash. Well, a new one seems to be headed the same path - the Moto G (4th gen), or possibly Moto G4, or Moto G4 Plus.
But even if the Moto G4 was the star in a few of our stories over the week, it was the LeEco Le Max 2 that shined the brightest. And with 6GB of RAM and a 21MP Sony IMX230 camera, we can see how this Snapdragon 820-powered 5.7-incher may be destined to succeed. Even more so with a price tag of $385.
Sony made headlines too. A potential 6-inch Xperia M Ultra was one of the reasons, while an alleged Xperia X Premium may come with an HDR display capable of producing more than a billion of colors and pumping out 1300nits of brightness.
Two more high profile launches took place, the ZUK Z2 Pro being one of them. Snapdragon 820 is the chip to have this year, and 6GB of RAM is the new 4GB - both checkboxes ticked on the Z2 Pro. The Nubia Z11 mini is more modest (Snapdragon 617, "only" 3GB of RAM), so the wait goes on for ZTE's true flagship from the Nubia brand this year.
