Week 37 in review: iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, Sony, Nexus and HTC rumors

Apples, Apples everywhere – phones, tablets, TV boxes and even a pencil. Cupertino took the news section by storm with its event, just as expected. The new iPhones are here – iPhone 6s and 6s Plus and as usual they are the best iPhones Apple has ever created.

We have already extensively covered almost every detail about the pair and you can read up on all the specifics in the linked articles below, but here are the most-important highlights: 12MP OIS camera with 4K recording, 3D touch display, all new A9 chipset and 2GB of RAM.

The other exciting announcement was undoubtedly the iPad Pro – a 12.9-inch monster of a tablet that has been frequenting the rumor mill since January 2014. It is no longer a work of fiction and now official, with major promises for unparalleled productivity. Underneath its impressive 2732 x 2048 pixels display is an A9X chip, paired with what Adobe has confirmed to be 4GB of RAM. For even greater productivity and precision there are also the new Apple Pencil – a high-precision active stylus and a convenient Smart Keyboard to go along with the iPad Pro.

In other non-Apple related news – the rumored Nokia C1 Android phone is gathering quite a lot of attention and so is the rumor of an upcoming Xperia Z5 Ultra with a beastly Snapdragon 820 chipset. And Speaking of the Z5 family, its star pupil – the Z5 Premium underwent a thorough examination under our digital microscope. The next Nexus phone also made headlines with a new leaked render and even a possible pre-order date for both the LG and Nexus models, set for October 13. Last, but not least – the HTC One A9 flagship also generated interest with talk of an impressive MediaTek ten core CPU.
