Weekly poll results: positive reviews and a good price can help Huawei's Mate X3 and P60 Pro

Not having access to the Google Play Services or new 5G networks isn’t ideal, but some are prepared to live with that. A high price, however, might be a deal-breaker. We’re a month away from learning the pricing that Huawei has in mind for its new Mate X3 and P60 Pro and that will be crucial to their success.

Last week’s poll shows that there is a large contingent of people who haven’t bought into the idea of foldables yet. Those aside, most people are waiting to see the reviews and the price tag of the Huawei Mate X3 before making a decision.

Almost as many people (the difference is a fraction of a percentage point) have already decided, no Google means “no, thank you”. Unfortunately, that’s not something that Huawei has control over or something that is likely to change. For now, the company is focusing on growing its alternative store, the App Gallery.

It’s worth mentioning that there are still quite a few people who will seriously consider getting a Mate X3, even with all those limitations and a price that is likely to be high (as is the norm for foldables).

Those who aren’t into foldables can have a look at the Huawei P60 Pro. However, this poll was nearly evenly split between all four options. 1 in 4 people just don’t want a P60 Pro and that’s it (some expressed interest in the P60 Art instead, but that probably won’t be available globally). Another quarter of the vote lamented the lack of Google services.

The remaining half of voters are interested – some are already saving up the cash, some are waiting reviews. Once upon a time Huawei could top the camera charts with its latest flagship, can the P60 Pro do the same? If yes, there are plenty of people who value camera quality above all else.

There were some complaints about the curved screen and its non-standard resolution. Others wondered when Huawei phones outside of China will switch over to HarmonyOS instead of dragging things along with Android and EMUI.
