Weekly poll: would you buy the Xiaomi 15T or Xiaomi 15T Pro?

Peter, 05 October 2025

Last week, Xiaomi had two major announcements – the 17-series flagships and the 15T-series flagship killers. We already asked you for your thoughts on the flagships, now let’s hear about the T-phones.

The Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro are larger than before with 6.83” displays, up from 6.67” on the 14T series. They are still lovely 12-bit OLED panels and, in the case of the Pro, the screen has 144Hz refresh rate. The vanilla 15T was downgraded to 120Hz, though that shouldn’t make too much of a difference.

We have the Xiaomi 15T in for review, the 15T Pro is at the office as well. Detailed reviews are on the way, for now let’s have a quick overview.

The Xiaomi 15T is powered by the Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset, up from 8300 Ultra on the 14T. It has faster UFS 4.1 storage (vs. UFS 4.0) and a larger 5,500mAh battery (+500mAh) with the same 67W wired-only charging. The camera system is more or less the same as last year.

The Xiaomi 15T Pro brings the Dimensity 9400+, up from 9300+ on last year’s model. It has a larger 5,500mAh battery too, with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging (a small downgrade from the 120W/50W of the 14T Pro).

Crucially, the 15T Pro has an upgraded camera system – the large 50MP 1/1.31” sensor in the main camera is now joined by a 50MP 5x/115mm periscope. That gives you a much more usable zoom range than the 2.6x/60mm telephoto lens of the 14T (the main sensor can already do 2x zoom).

The Pro also has more advanced wireless communication methods – Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and Astral Communication (an offline phone-to-phone messaging system) that works at up to 1.9km. The vanilla 15T supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and Astral Communication at up to 1.3km.

The Xiaomi 15T starts at €650/£550, the 15T Pro at €800/£650 (both for a 12/256GB unit). Keep in mind that you may be able to collect a 10% discount or €100/€150 voucher. Check your local mi.com for details.

If you are looking for a new phone, would you pick the Xiaomi 15T?

What about the Xiaomi 15T Pro? Are the camera improvements, higher performance and better charging options worth the €150/£100 price hike?
