Weekly poll: Xiaomi Redmi K40 Gaming promises a lot, but is it worth it?

Yordan, 09 May 2021

Xiaomi has its Black Shark gaming division, but the Redmi brand wanted something for itself, so it came up with the K40 Gaming smartphone. It is part of the K40 family, but has its priorities set slightly differently.

Last week the phone arrived on sale in China and unsurprisingly sold thousands of units in seconds. Now, the Redmi K40 Gaming is still available only on the domestic scene, but we heard Poco might relaunch the very same phone as Poco F3 GT.

This week we’re asking you if/when the phone escapes the home market, will you purchase it? We’ve seen a lot of arguments in comments that gaming phones are a gimmick, so we’ve added a third option as well.

And before you cast your votes, let us remind you this is a lovely Dimensity 1200-powered smartphone with all the latest bells and whistles on the hardware side. Moreover, the Xiaomi Redmi K40 Gaming has the unique pop-up shoulder keys, JBL-tuned stereo speakers and 67W fast charging.

I guess they shoul've allowed this with GMS and make a global debut earlier. This is the phone to buy for gamers on a budget.

it has a middle punch hole and its big compared to what they can truly be. also, no under display scanner with no headphone jack, it's just software gamer friendly, not truly gamer friendly.

Poco F3 is a lot cheaper, not sure if the looks with slightly less performance is worth paying more
