WhatsApp testing new widget to make Meta AI easier to access

In January, we learned that WhatsApp was testing a new home screen widget on Android to make Meta AI quickly accessible. Now we learn the company is testing another widget to make Meta AI easy to access.

This revelation comes from WABetaInfo, who discovered this new widget in beta version 2.25.6.14 of WhatsApp for Android. You can see in the screenshots below that this new widget has three shortcuts: one to open the chat with Meta AI, another to quickly share a photo with Meta AI, and a third for voice-based interaction with Meta AI. The size of this new widget can also be adjusted to your preference to make it a proper fit for your phone's home screen.

This widget is only available to beta testers running the latest version of WhatsApp for Android. However, it's worth noting that the availability of Meta AI is limited, so if you live in a country where this feature hasn't rolled out yet, you won't see the new widget even if you are a beta user.
