WhatsApp for iPhone gets Picture-in-Picture support for video calls

Last December, WhatsApp announced Picture-in-Picture (PiP) support for video calls on iPhone, which was first available to beta users but is now rolling out to all users across the globe having an iPhone running iOS 12.0 or later.

PiP support for video calls on WhatsApp for iPhone is rolling out with WhatsApp version 23.3.77, allowing users to multitask during a WhatsApp video call by minimizing the WhatsApp app.

But that's not all. The new update now lets you add captions when sending documents. You can check the update's changelog below for more details.

  • With support for iOS Picture in Picture (PiP), you can now multitask during a WhatsApp call without your video being paused.
  • You can now add captions when sending documents.
  • Added support for longer group subjects and descriptions to make it easier to describe your groups.
  • You can now create personalized avatars and use them as stickers and profile photos. Go to Settings > Avatar to get started.
