Windows 10 Mobile to get fingerprint support

Prasad, 13 May, 2016

Microsoft will be adding support for fingerprint sensors in Windows 10 Mobile. This will be part of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update expected to arrive in July.

Windows 10 currently includes a feature called Windows Hello, which uses facial recognition to unlock the device but lacks native fingerprint reader support. The first device to include support for it will be the HP Elite x3, with more devices coming in later.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update is also expected to bring other features, such as Windows Ink for writing in digital ink on top of your apps, smarter Cortana, and improved UWP apps, with ability to use multi-GPU and disable V-sync.
