Xiaomi 14T review
Design, build quality, handling
The Xiaomi 14T is a departure from the glossy and curvy 13T model. This year, we got an all-flat smartphone with a clean, no-nonsense design. Well, if you still fancy the eco-leather version, the 14T does offer one as the Lemon Green option, which comes infused with eco-friendly materials, including actual lemon parts.
The rest of the color options are the trendy metallic colors started by the iPhone 15 Pro generation - Titan Gray, Titan Blue, and Titan Black (ours).
The Titan versions of the Xiaomi 14T have a flat Gorilla Glass 5 at the front, a flat plastic frame (based on a die-cast aluminum structure), and a flat Glass Panda-X back panel.
The frame and the back always come with matching colors and the same matte finish. They are quite smudge-resistant but not that grippy.
The Lemon Green version has a yellow-green frame and a similar hue on its faux leather back.
The camera housing, a perfect square this year with four symmetrical rings, looks clean and stylish and even though it doesn'tlook like it, it's actually made of Gorilla Glass 5.
The Xiaomi 14T is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance, and we are glad this hasn't changed since the 13T series.
The entire front of the Xiaomi 14T is occupied by the 6.67-inch OLED of 1220p resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 68B colors and Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. It has a small punch-hole for the selfie camera and is protected by a Gorilla Glass 5.
There is an under-display fingerprint scanner, which works fast and is nicely accurate. It comes with some neat animations and vibrations, which makes it feel like an improvement over the previous model.
The Xiaomi 14T has a hybrid stereo speaker system with Dolby Atmos support. There is one dedicated speaker at the bottom of the phone, next to the USB-C port, and another speaker above the screen with a second top-facing outlet.
As we already discussed, the back is all flat, with a square camera bump. All three cameras have equally large rings, as well as an LED flash.
The Xiaomi 14T is a premium-looking smartphone, and it is one of a solid build. It feels very good when handled, with just enough grip to make it safe to be used without a case. Another solid execution by Xiaomi here.

The review mentions that the front camera is a Samsung ISOCELL KD1 and says that it's fixed focus, but the vendor specs state it has autofocus (https://semiconductor.samsung.com/emea/image-sensor/mobile-image-sensor/isocell-kd1/). Is it a typo o...

Both are solid options, but the 14T is better in terms of support.
