Xiaomi 14T Pro review
Android 14 with HyperOS 1.05
The Xiaomi 14T Pro boots Android 14 with HyperOS 1.05. We've already encountered HyperOS on numerous Xiaomi devices, and you can read our dedicated article or watch the video below to get a taste.
Xiaomi promises 4 OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches for the 14T Pro, so the phone's software future is pretty solid.
HyperOS looks and behaves a lot like the MIUI of old, and while we don't doubt there are under-the-hood improvements, long-time Xiaomi phone users will be right at home. There are subtle differences to be spotted, though, like the slightly flatter design and more rounded edges for a lot of the design elements.
Some things have gotten more intuitive, like the multi-window implementation, where the buttons are now more self-explanatory. That's not entirely the case with the quick settings, so it's nice that there's an option to enable text labels (off by default). You can no longer opt out of the Control center, though - that's still available on the phones that had it pre-HyperOS, but not on those that launched with the new software.
The Xiaomi 14T Pro also supports some AI tricks even if some are not pre-installed but available for download for free. You can get AI Image, which also incorporates AI Portraits and AI Magic Erase Pro.
Xiaomi will push AI Interpreter, AI Notes, AI Film, AI Subtitles (now in beta) with an upcoming software update.
Google Gemini is on board too. You can ask Gemini a lot of stuff to do, even make whole conversations. It can give you ideas on what to cook based on a photo of your fridge contents, you can ask for book or painting ideas.
Gemini can also create images for you, which is neat.
Circle to Search is also coming soon with an update in October, though Google Lens is available right now.
Performance and benchmarks
The Xiaomi 14T Pro is powered by the flagship-grade Dimensity 9300+ 4nm chip, up from 9200+ on the 13T Pro. The new model has newer generation CPU cores, better GPU and more advanced features across all aspects, AI included.
The new CPU is still octa core with a 3.25 GHz Cortex-X4 prime core, three 2.85 GHz Cortex-X4 cores, and four 2.0GHz Cortex-A720 cores. These are all prime and high-performance cores, there are no A510 power-efficient ones.
The GPU is now the Immortalis-G720 MC12, up from the Immortalis-G715 MC11 on the 13T Pro.
Finally, the phone supports up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. Our review unit is this top-spec version.
The Dimensity 9300+ seems to be featuring the most powerful processor on the mobile Android market right now!
The GPU, while not the chart-topping model, is still among the cream of the crop and will do a marvelous job for high-profile gaming.
The performance stability of the chipset is sort of decent overall - 60% for CPU and 66% for GPU. That said, the spiky behavior under high CPU load isn't the best - perhaps the short bursts of top performance may be beneficial for certain applications, but in principle smoother graphs are better.
The phone did get quite hot during our stress test, on the frame and around the camera, almost unbearably. But this never occurred in actual use, even after four hours of gaming, so there is no need to worry.
The Xiaomi 14T Pro features one of the most powerful hardware platforms on the market right now, with good stability at that, and it is ideal for gaming and whatever powerful tasks you can come up with.

You can make the apps work after root as well though I personally would not bother to root a new phone and I would not bother at all if they kept offering updates but after 1-2 years of no updates it's time to root so the fact they make it hard...

I used 10T Pro for 4 year - very good item, reliable and secure - and now I decided to exchange it with 14T Pro! The difference don't seem to be so big at the beginning, but step by step 14 shows it good features... Very good camera! I always ...
