Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro are the most popular newly launched Android flagships

Xiaomi launched the 15 and 15 Pro in China in October, and many other Chinese smartphone makers have also outed their latest and greatest flagship devices either in October or November. Now that all of these have been on the market for a few weeks over there, a new report claims Xiaomi's have proven the most popular with buyers.

According to data relating to activations (we assume this means carrier activations), the Xiaomi 15 series leads the pack with 1.3 million as of week 47 (that started on November 18 and ended on November 24). The unnamed second place is pretty far behind at 600,000-700,000, while the third maker only saw about 250,000 activations so far.

Keep in mind that these are activations we're talking about here, and not shipments or sales. If you bought a phone and it's still in the box, it doesn't count - though we imagine there wouldn't be millions of those just lying around Chinese houses at the moment skewing the numbers.

Although the source of this information hasn't named the runners-up, rumor has it Oppo and vivo are occupying the second place together (Chinese netizens constantly refer to these together as "OV", and since both companies are owned by BBK Electronics, you can see how that would make sense), while Honor is in third.

Interestingly, the vanilla Oppo Find X8 is said to be outselling the Find X8 Pro 5:1. Those are Oppo's entrants in this arena, by the way, while vivo brought three: the X200, X200 Pro, and X200 Pro mini. Honor, on the other hand, sent the Magic7 and Magic7 Pro.

What flagship today still has SD card slot, 3.5mm jack and radio? You have up to 1TB storage, on a 1000$ phone you will use wireless headphones and listen to internet radio. They want to offer a premium experience so inferior technology is cut out. ...
