Xiaomi 15T review

GSMArena Team, 08 October 2025.

Design, build quality, handling

The Xiaomi 15T features a design that we would describe as very traditional. The look is incredibly subdued and understated, fitting perfectly into any environment and setting.

Xiaomi 15T review

The overall silhouette of the Xiaomi 15T evokes iPhone vibes, as Apple's smartphones are undoubtedly the most popular among flat-sided and rounded-cornered devices. It's a universally appealing shape that just works, offering a nice and confident grip and feeling sturdy in the hand.

Speaking of which, the Xiaomi 15T has virtually no flex in its chassis, despite the middle frame being made of plastic. There is practically no hollowness to the back side either.

Xiaomi 15T review

While on the subject of materials, the Xiaomi 15T features a standard "sandwiched" design, with a Gorilla Glass 7i sheet on the front to protect the display and an undisclosed fiberglass substrate on the back.

We are also pleased to note that neither the back nor the middle frame is particularly prone to smudging.

Xiaomi 15T review

Xiaomi didn't entirely leave the 15T without at least a little bit of design "charm". It comes in the form of a chamfer surrounding the camera island like a small accent. The symmetrical camera arrangement also helps make the whole thing a bit more "recognizable".

Xiaomi 15T review

You can choose from the Xiaomi 15T in Black, Gray, and Rose Gold colors. All of them feature nicely color-matched middle frames that pull off a surprisingly convincing metal look, especially from a distance.

The Xiaomi 15T features a standard set of controls and a general layout. The left frame is empty while the right side houses the power button and volume rocker. The bottom side is quite busy, featuring a dual Nano-SIM tray, one of the two speakers, the main microphone, and the Type-C port. The top side is mostly empty.

Xiaomi 15T

The Xiaomi 15T features an IR blaster, which is discreetly integrated into the rear assembly alongside one of the rear-facing cameras. Also hidden away - the light and proximity sensors, near the right side of the display and the selfie punch hole. The latter is pretty small and nonobtrusive. The same can be said about the display bezels. Side note - both the front and back sides of the Xiaomi 15T are flat.

Xiaomi 15T review

The Xiaomi 15T uses an under-display fingerprint reader. It is of the standard optical variety, is well-positioned height-wise and is both speedy and accurate. No complaints there.

Xiaomi official site confirms it has a hardware proximity sensor, though the review mentions otherwise, anyone else can confirm?
