Xiaomi 15T in for review

Ivan, 25 September 2025

We're giving you the freshly announced Xiaomi 15T, the second half of this year's T series. You may call this one the vanilla or the non-Pro, but it isn't a big downgrade to the Xiaomi 15T Pro.

In fact, you will have a hard time telling them apart by just looking at them. They're essentially the same size, with the same screen diagonal, and they have the same design. Our 15T unit comes in Black, but you can also get one in Rose Gold, which is similar to the Mocha Brown of the 15T Pro.

The 15T downgrades the 6.83-inch 2772x1280px AMOLED to 120Hz, but the panel has the same 480Hz touch sampling rate, and 3,200 nits of peak brightness. The protective layer above the display is the same flat sheet of Gorilla Glass 7i.

The cameras are actually unchanged compared to the 14T - you get a triple system with two 50 MP units - 23mm f/1.7 wide and 46mm f/1.9 2x zoom. There's also a 15mm f/2.2 ultrawide camera with a 12 MP sensor. Last year's 14T called its 2x a 50mm, but the setup is essentially identical.

But sensors and optics aren't everything these days. The Xiaomi 15T benefits from Xiaomi's latest Xiaomi AISP 2.0 pipeline for better computational photography, as well as color and tonal accuracy. We'll know what kind of difference that makes when we finish review.

Finally, Xiaomi touts its new Astral Communication, based on the Dimensity silicon inside the 15T series. It features Xiaomi Offline Communication, which debuts on the 15T models, and allows them to talk to each other without the need for a cellular or Wi-Fi connection. Two 15T's will be able to talk at distances up to 1.3km, two 15T Pros as far as 1.9km. It's not clear just yet how Xiaomi and MediaTek have achieved this, and we are yet to give the feature a proper test.

The Xiaomi 15T is on sale, starting at €650 for a 12/256GB unit. Keep watching this space to find out more about it!

It's a shame the non-Pro Xiaomi T models have stagnated. The 13T was a big change (camera-wise) from the 12T, but ever since that model, the 14T and 15T aren't that much different save for the newer SoC. I hope they upgrade the ...
