How's the battery atm for those who've owned it for a few days?
I haven't really used a xiaomi phone for quite a while and the last one I had was
A Redmi note 10 5g (which wasn't all that great).
I wanted to see if xiaomi is worth going back to again (especially with this lineup).

Jekeb, 28 Sep 2025this phone deserves a snapdragon 8 elite or snapdragon 8 gen 3 fr8 gen 3 is literally worse than the 9400+ and the 9400+ is basically on par with 8 elite

Doesn't really matter if they got 9500 in it, Snapdragon is good enough of a factor to attract potential customers into buying a regular Xiaomi 17.

Jekeb, 28 Sep 2025this phone deserves a snapdragon 8 elite or snapdragon 8 gen 3 frThey went for the MediaTek because it is cheaper than the Snapdragon. They couldn't give this phone the Dimensity 9500 because then it would be better than the regular Xiaomi 15 in most areas.

Yoedi16, 29 Sep 2025Lmao these battery health is depend on how you use it. Char... moremakes me think whether I shouldn't have charged with the official 67W charger...
fast charging makes my 14T quite warm, which may have harmed its battery health a bit.

SkyFX, 28 Sep 2025Nah. It's even worse with the Xiaomi products, especia... moreI have the same problem too, regarding the battery not coming out as brand new despite the phone being brand new and the software. Mine came out with ~97% health, and I still had to charge it once every day back then, simply because the camera app somehow drains as much battery as emulating PlayStation or Nintendo Switch games. Granted, I didn't continuously use the app, I opened the camera app to take a picture or two, then I closed it after using, then I reopened it again when I need to, but still.

MasEnha, 28 Sep 2025Xiaomi T series and up have better battery quality hence it... moretell that to my 14T. Now I have to charge it 2-3 times per day, despite most of what I do is just reading the news, phone calls, and taking pictures. I've been using it for half a year.

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2025kinda true, but if it had dimensity 9500/snapdragon 8 elite... moreeh, doubtful about that. Xiaomi 17 has better screen, far higher capacity (and newer tech) battery (as you said), ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, USB 3.2 and DisplayPort. The only things that the 15T Pro has that the 17 does not is better PWM, "better" display refresh rate (144Hz vs. 120Hz is such a small difference), and "better" cameras (only real-world usage and picture tests will be able to tell, though some parts are pretty objective, such as 15T Pro's 5x periscope telephoto vs. 17's 2.6x telephoto). Plus, because 17 is a Snapdragon, making and porting custom ROMs will be easier, and even ROMs such as Xiaomi.eu (which solve all the annoying problems of HyperBUG that gets in the way of practical daily use) will be available for free.
So, even if 15T Pro got 9500 and still got the same price, people may still buy 17 instead.

being as all the comments are negative, what are other options around this pricepoint. maybe its price is more in other markets cause £580-600 seems to me a great price for such hardware.

SkyFX, 28 Sep 2025Nah. It's even worse with the Xiaomi products, especia... moreLmao these battery health is depend on how you use it. Charging behavior, temp etc
I have poco f2 pro and poco x3 GT with original battery and both still kickin with decent battery life, especially now theres option to limit charging to 80% should be better for longer battery lifetime.

MasEnha, 28 Sep 2025Xiaomi T series and up have better battery quality hence it... moreNah. It's even worse with the Xiaomi products, especially their tablets (Xiaomi Pad 6, 240 cycles, 79% capacity). Came brand new with 90% capacity. Same with my Poco F2 Pro, so it's been a long consistent problem/pattern with Xiaomi/Poco.
The repair shop guy even said "I get a lot of Xiaomi devices that look almost brand new with worn or dead batteries".
The cheaper unoriginal 25€ battery he changed to had 102% capacity, and the capacity lasted until the motherboard died a year later.
Even their software is notorious for standby battery drain. Seemingly huge 6-7.5k mAh capacity, yet outperformed by ~5k mAh phones (People, also take note that you lose the IP rating on battery changes).
Xiaomi is the master of shortcuts, industry leading - never beaten.
