Mr. Red, 26 Dec 2025When will this globally releasing? It doesn't seem likely. Hopefully my wife's one from China arrives today or tomorrow.
Note that if it does release globally, the battery will be likely locked at 5000mAh which is going to be tiny for a phone with 2 screens. My Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a 6000mAh battery and I could not imagine running a Snap Elite CPU with anything smaller than this. Especially with a beefy camera and extremely high PPI screen with crazy high brightness (3500nits+).
For my wife I think the phone will be flawless. Near Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera performance after looking at reviews, plus improved CPU and much larger battery with second screen on the back. She takes a lot of photos of me, so being able to see myself on the back of the camera will be kinda cool I guess.
Sure it has no eSIM which is a huge letdown but given that Xiaomi 17 Ultra was released and is arguably a downgrade (1 less camera sensor, Bluetooth 6.0>5.4, 80W wireless>50W wireless charging, 10cm>30cm minimum distance macro) etc. I think this Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is a really good phone and it's now priced really well.
