Jemlim, 02 May 2022Nope, it doesn't (im replying to the 2nd paragraph not... moreOk so technically it is a flagship, but it's ironic for a non-flagship phone (Civi) to look and feel just as premium (if not more) than a flagship like the S21 FE, don't you think?
If I gave someone (preferably someone tech-illiterate) the Civi and the S21 FE without any foreknowledge of its specs, I bet most would think the Civi is the flagship judging purely by its look and feel in the hand.
Maybe that says something about today's smartphone industry. High-end design and materials aren't restricted to flagships anymore it seems. And I'm fine with that, in fact it's probably a blessing because I care highly about premium look and feel without that premium price tag. I've also demoed the TCL 20 Pro in store and it feels so premium for a $300-400 midranger.

Just bought a black civi, very impressed with this phone. Coming off my old phone ( Xiaomi note 7 pro ) this one is a massive upgrade, not to mention I prefer the civi 1 over the civi 2, the civi 2 is great but they cut screen ratio, wider punch hole and device is thicker and has a larger camera bump, I chose the civi 1 instead over the civi 2. Well done Xiaomi, well done.

joe nodden, 21 Jun 2022No it is not.man, stop arguing.
it's our opinion. if you think the phone has a plastic back then it isn't a flagship, fine. we all think that they are still f;agships.

"The cockpit canopy of the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor jet fighter is fabricated from high optical quality polycarbonate. It is the largest item of its type." also used for riot shields and police truncheons.
"Benefits over glass and metal back covers include durability against shattering (weakness of glass), bending and scratching (weakness of metal), shock absorption, low manufacturing costs, and no interference with radio signals and wireless charging (weakness of metal) " but yeah, glass and aluminium (or stainless steel in iPhones) makes a flagship supposedly not the series its in and if it has polycarbonate panels or not.

Jemlim, 01 May 2022S21 FE is already enough to consider it a 'flagship... morePeople just don't understand what "flagship" actually means. They probably THINK it's the S20/21/22 ultra when the reality is "flagship" indicates "their top of the line phone series". So Samsung its the S series, Xiaomi its the" 12", Oppo its the find x series, its not 1 specific phone its the line of phones in their own top tier. So you are correct a flagship can have plastic (maybe everyone forgot the last 10 years or something) most phones being "polycarbonate" if we're to use the proper term... Not plastic but hey, they couldn't get "flagship" right so.
