Xiaomi has just launched a new e-reader, called Mi Reader Pro. It is a massive upgrade over the initial Mi Reader and comes as a direct competitor to Amazon Kindle Oasis, the bigger brother of the Paperwhite.

The new reader comes with a big display, plenty of customizations of the screen, and voice search for quicker input of titles.

The display is 7.8” in diagonal with an e-ink screen and 330 ppi pixel density. The screen illuminating LED comes with 24-level adjustable brightness and the ability to change the color tone from warm to cold, depending on the surrounding, allowing for a more comfortable reading experience.

Inside there are 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, quad-core CPU, and Android Oreo 8.1-based user interface. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and the reader supports local Chinese platforms like Baidu and WeChat Reading. Xiaomi implemented some of its own Xiao AI voice functions to offer a smoother and faster browsing experience on the Mi Reader Pro.
