Xiaomi MI-2S with new chipset announced, faster than the S4?

09 April, 2013

Oh, Xiaomi – you keep teasing us with low-priced superphones that are a challenge to buy outside of China. The latest offering is an S version of the recent Xiaomi MI-2 and it packs a Snapdragon 600 chipset (over the S4 Pro of the MI-2).

The quad-core Krait 300 CPU has been clocked at 1.7GHz but according to Xiaomi’s numbers it beats the Samsung Galaxy S4 in benchmarks (which has a 1.9GHz Krait 300 CPU).

Here are the benchmarks. Note that we’re using Xiaomi’s own numbers for the performance of the MI-2 and MI-2S, so take them with a pinch of salt. We used our own numbers for the others, you can see the original Xiaomi charts here.
