Xiaomi Mi 4 and Mi 5 receive price cuts in India

Xiaomi has slashed the prices of its Mi 4 and Mi 5 smartphones in India, with the former receiving a permanent price cut of INR 4,000 (around $60), while the latter getting a temporary INR 2,000 (around $30) price cut.

The price cuts were announced by Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain in a tweet. With this, the Mi 4's price has come down to INR 10,999 (around $165) in the country, while the Mi 5 currently sets you back INR 22,999 (around $345).

These price cuts are part of the Chinese company's 2nd year anniversary carnival that runs through July 22. For more offers and discounts, head to the company's India website (Mi India link below).

You're talking nonsense. Since Xiaomi had been pricing their products in India the same as China until the Mi5, he makes a great point.

Xiaomi has let us down, by not introducing the 64gb version in India. It is totally ridiculous on their part to offer only the sub par version here, although India is such a big market for them. Their strategy stinks, and Hugo Barra needs to be whack...

They use India as their dump yard or growth stimulator. When there is too much stock or growth slowing down here or elsewhere, they offer discounts. But they, much like other chinese companies, don't care about releasing products on time. Still ...
