I am a Xiaomi fan but Xiaomi is adopting some really idiotic steps. They are giving away big batteries for cheap Redmi series phones(4000mAh+) and only giving 2800+ for premium Mi series(Mi5,5s,5c). This is really unfair. You're spending more and getting lower battery. Other companies are moving towards 4000+ batteries nowadays to follow Xiaomibut Xiaomi itself is giving lower now. Instead of upgrading to Snapdragon 653 for Redmi Note 4, they downgraded to 625 lol. I know 625 eats less battery but also gives lower performance.

since it's still using 28nm soc, and the battery is less than 3000, I'm not sure it will last a day. Maybe yes in the first usage, but after some updates in the future, it won't be that much concern of xiaomi to optimize the battery later rather than their new upcoming devices. Also... Surge S1 is the first pinecone soc. Usually fails come with first generation, better wait for Surge S2 to ensure my move to pinecone. Redmi Note 4X or Mi5s is still a better choice now.
