And about iphones, while they did and will give u the option to update to the latest OS versions, doesn't mean that they're well optimized. U can update the iphone 5 u get to the latest version, then suffers all the lags and other problems till u changed to a latest iPhones. Whats the point then? U can't even revert back to previous os as simple as downloading roms and installing some flash tools to ur pc like androids can. A few other things I would really love to remind iOS users out there, don't pretend like apple didn't treat iPhones with version numbers. They really did and there are also quite a number of apps that aren't supported just because the apps requires iPhones generation 9 and above etc. So stop with all your craps like "get an iphones, they support their devices till u die!". And why the hell does Apple forces users to use wifi when downloading apps 150mb and above? There are many telcos that give unlimited and cheap add-on datas nowadays. I know cuz my gf using iPhone 6 (i know it is an old device but that is the point here right??) :p

I'm not an apple haters nor am I an android fanboys. I just think that apple should do better conidering their capabilities and quite hefty pricetags

    I once had an iPhone 5 and changed it for an Xperia M4 Aqua because I wanted something different. It was better in some areas like front camera or display size, but it lacked the quality of the iPhone 5 and that was even noticeable for the average person. The camera for example, poor low light performance, needs 2,5 seconds to take a photo compared to no time on the iPhone, and because of that, photos often weren‘t taken in the right moment or blurred. It also overheated like nothing, even though it was not made public. The battery lasted a bit longer, but took 4 hours to charge, absolutely unacceptable. The built quality was a massive difference as well, the iPhone 5 was made from metal and glass whereas the Xperia only had plastic which scratched easily and felt cheap, and if you pushed the back, you could bend it to feel the internals. And then, guess what: The 3 years newer M4 Aqua stopped getting updates when the iPhone 5 was about to receive iOS 10.

    TL;DR: if you want to keep your phone for a really long time again, I seriously recommend you to get an iPhone again because Android phones, and especially lower End android phones like the Redmi Note 5, get outdated extremely fast, and the Mi 8 will still be outdated pretty fast compared to a new iPhone.

        I am interested in the blue variant. I've checked out the black and white variants in store. If you don't want to use a case or skin on the phone I'd go for white. The black is a fingerprint magnet. I wonder if anyone has experience with a the blue variant? Is it a fingerprint magnet?

              Good day... According to the review.. The phone needs to be cooled before it can get to SDN 845 level of performance due to its poor heat management ... I want to know, does this mean that the phone gets hot under moderate to heavy usage..? Like when charging it and when playing a heavy game like asphalt 8?

Not much you're right, but enough to annoy some (and me personally). +2,3 or 4 hrs less than with a 4,000mah battery. Long gone are the days where we could go 3-4 days on a single charge.                           So, mi 8 which is 3400MAH is preferable. or note 5 pro which is 4000 mah is preferrable.
                          DO not go for the mi mix2s, its soo heavy man, you will suffer in long term usage. as i can see you dont play games much either, bro, mi 8, thats your best shot. Bang for the buck. It's got some really good enhancement comapred to the mi 6, the mi8 will survive alot and never let you down. Note 5 pro if you cant afford the mi 8. thats all.

                            if you want the 3.5mm jack for earphones, moderate gaming then, take the note 5 pro.
                            If you are okay with buying type c earphones, need super quick charge, excellent camera, heavy gaming (ASPHALT 9 Coming this year), state of the art technology, slim and sexy. TAKE THE MI8, definitely take the mi8

                            Mi Mix2s is not your shot. I can already understand alot from your 5 years of iphone5s, so trust me big boy, take the mi 8, you will love it for the next 5 :)

                              Using a lot(more than 5years) my iphone 5s and want to buy something new right now for a long period ;)
                              So now i am thinking to take a Redmi Note 5 or Mi 8(not SE).
                              Mi mix 2s looking interesting too, but... very bad front camera.
                              I do not play games, only Hearthstone, so for sure i do not need very big performance.
                              Need phone for a long period to looking films/music/facebook/sometimes Hearthstone.
                              I am not a professional photographer, but very love to make beautiful photos when i travel and in this Mi8 is better for me i think? Or i will not notice a big difference and RN5 camera will be for me good?
                              So only difference between these two phones for me: CAMERA, front camera too, display, nfc(but i dont really need it), good gps and i think its all, maybe something forgot.
                              So... Do it worth?

                                    Is it NOT water resistent?! I can't see IP68 at specs.

                                    I think i am going to Samsung but Mi 8 is a beauty beast, too.

                                      I don't mind for the notch-inspired smartphones. Not at all. This is, however, a blatant copycat of the iPhone X. No imagination whatsoever. The notch, the round design. everything looks absolutely similar except for the small chin in the bottom. Even the camera module & the placement is the same.
                                      Oh, and they also copied the lack of the headphone jack & microsd slot... Nice going, Xiaomi.
