A great optimised device with IPS would last longer than a badly made amoled device. G7 is an example, its actually great.

Fantastic phone beautiful design but wosh to have andriod one edition. If it's got andriod one edition I would buy it definitely.

Don't understand the haters calling Xiaomi copycats cos they weren't the first.
In 2018, it seems all flagships are gonna have a notch including leaked images of Pixel3 and just because the Mi8 doesn't have headphone jack and corner camera placement, it is being slated? Serious you people need to chill.
The Huawei P20 also has same camera placement but with front fingerprint sensor so that makes it ok? Also my colleagues using the OP6 and being mistaken for the iphone cos everyone only notices the notch, not the camera placement or if there is a headphone jack. But nobody calling them Apple copycats lol.
2018 is seeing a trend on glass build bezeless displays which doesn't leave alot to the imagination. You can opt for notch or not (think s9 or mi mix2s), rear camera has always been centered or top corner and fingerprint sensor is either front bottom bezel or rear centered.
Looking at the device impartially, it has flagship killer specs at a great price, just can't see anyone able to better them. Definitely considering this as an upgrade if it become available and close to the china prices

Dear Chinese copycat (AKA Xiaomi)...
You just needed to put a 3.5mm Headphone Jack and a small card slot that does not take too much space and you would have KILLED OnePlus 6, Iphone X, Galaxy S9+, Xperia XZ2 and Huawei p20 pro.
But well... You just follow what apple does.
